What is FGM?
What is FGM? Was an animation commissioned by Global Citizen with the goal of bringing awareness to horrors around the practice of female genital mutilation.
Genital Design
Creating the visual for this graphic was quite challenging, and a little comical considering how many versions we went through to get the depiction of the female genitalia just right.
Kinetic Typography
I wanted to incorporate jagged shapes into the design of this to symbolize razors. Over all I wanted there to be a balance between a clean graphic approach while also being minimal in how I represent blood and violence.
Character design
The design of the characters for this project were also minimal. Over all I wanted there to be a cohesive color palette with rich earth tones to represent the African women FGM is usually inflicted upon.
